If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

My roots really hurt.

Is it because my head hasn't been taking the weight of my hair, and it feels the difference when I take it down?

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

yes, that's right. u also might be tying your hair too tight. I get the same feeling, sometimes. scratching or massaging ur scalp

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Oh i love that feeling =]

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

idk, i get the same feeling too. i scratch my scalp and then it feels better

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

yes that's exactly right. if you have thick hair then it's because you put the ponytail in too tight.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

You must be a blonde

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

my hair is medium length and my head eventually hurts when I wear it up

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

It shouldnt hurt, you are either putting your hair up too tight, or you have a sensitive head.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Yes I have very long hair and that happens to me all the time! It feels so good to scratch it afterwards though. lol

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

idk?

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

sometimes it can just be when it is greasy other times it can just happen when you sleep with your hair in a ponytail also if you put your hair up when its wet, and then you rake it out when it dries, it may hurt bc your roots are used to that position

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

b/c your hair up was too tight and it was pulling on yopur scalp but dont worry nothing bad happened

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

That same thing happend to me this morning and i think it might be because your ponytail or bun is too tight.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

your hair is actually dead cells, so it is your head that hurts, not your hair. The stress of pulling the skin and follicles back causes it to be sore

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

ouch i know exactly wut ut talking bout.

i wear my hair up constantly, i think its jus cuz ur hair had been up for sum period of time and suddenly when u let it down ur scalp wasnt used to it.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

thats happens sometimes to me but only if my hair has been up in a tight ponytail for a long time.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

I have wondered this too. It's not hurting now though. I think you have the answer already.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

I have no idea why, but I agree with the first answer that it feels great! Your answer sounds like it the logical one...

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

ive had that b4 and its because if u tie it too tightly, most likely when u take it off ur pulling ur hair.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Because your hair follicles were being pulled at your scalp in 1 direction the entire time you had your hair up, but when you let it down it is suddenly forced the follicles in the opposite direction, causing a sensation in your scalp.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

you probably have your hair tied up too tightly. that happens to me sometimes. i just massage my scalp when i take my hair down and try to tie it a little looser next time.

(when your hair is pulled too tight, it pulls on the skin of your head which is why you feel the pain.)

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

it's probably because your ponytail is too tight that it's preventing air from getting to your scalp.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

I think it's cuz it's so heavy and it's been being pulled all day by gravity, or resisting gravity, or something or other...I get that too, though, it's normal :)

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

it's just because your hair has been tied up to long and when yuo take it down it's a little sour p.s i love that felling

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

I believe it's because putting your hair up causes slight pulling of the hair. Since this pull goes on all day, it adds up to a sore head.

Kinda like wearing high heels all day. They feel ok when you put them on....

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

O.K. try this tie one hand behind your back all day at night let it loose; It will hurt let your hair loose or you might just be tightening it to hard. I'm sure your hair is very pretty why are you hiding it?

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

My hair probably isn't as long as yours, but I still get that same feeling. You get it because your hair wants to stay in the style that it was in all day. Your hair pulls on your roots cuz it isn't used to being taken down like that so suddenly.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Your hair hurts because it's being pressured by being tied up. Then, when your hair comes down, the pressure is lifted suddenly, so your roots hurt. You shouldn't tie your hair up too much, because later, when you get older since there's so much pressure, your hair falls out a lot.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Do you put your hair up often??

whenever i put my hair up i always have some sore roots after i take my hair out. I am a regular hair putter upperer.lol. so it might even be that you always have it up and your roots are getting weaker??

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Perhaps when you take your hair out of the ponytail or whatever you used, you pulled on your hair which causes the roots to respond with more blood flow, which in turn will give you the sensation of your roots hurting.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

I have really long thick hair %26amp;%26amp; i thought the same thing, I thought it was because my hair was heavy.

But i learned that it does that because your head isnt use to your hair being like that.

You may think well i wear it like that all the time. %26amp;%26amp; so I do. I so cheerleading everyday for 3 hours after school with my hair up, %26amp;%26amp; it still sometimes hurts.

It might just mean you wore it differently or higher or tighter then normal.

If you have long hair, why does your hair hurt when you take it out from being tied up?

Your hair isn't used to being pulled back, so when you hold it there for awhile, the roots aren't used to it. Its like when your muscles get sore.
