How do guys grow their hair long?

Now I know this seems like a self explanatory question, but I'll tell you what I mean more specifically. When my hair is short, I get it cut like a standard guy's haircut: longer on the top and slightly shorter around the sides. When I let it grow longer, it ends up just looking like a mop or like one of the Beatles' haircuts and my head looks like it's expanding. I'm trying to let it grow more like Kurt Cobain's or like Ozzy's. Is there a certain way you have to cut it to ensure that it looks like that? Do I have to mess with the proportions or something? I mean do I have to cut one area shorter and leave another longer?

don't keep rounding it in the back when you cut it. if you don't have the hairstyle you want already you're probably not gonna get. see usually men's hair grows toward their forwhead on the top of their head. Women's hair grow the other way down their backs. so if yours is growing in the different direction you'll most likely nevr gonna get it the other way you want it.

You hair type will factor into this. If you have very thick hair it can be harder to keep it flat. simple. just never cut it.and if your hair takes a long time to grow then use a grease called do grow. it really works because my mom used it on a african girl who had a desease and now she has more hair than you can imagine.
